DISPlay{OFF|ON}
DISPlay?
Enables (On) or disables (Off) front-panel display. For security reasons or for a slight increase in measurement rates,
you may want to turn off the front panel display. When disabled, the entire front panel display turns black and error
annunciator (ERR) is displayed.

Disable the front panel display: DISP OFF
– All keys except "Local" are disabled when the display is OFF.
– When you disabled the display with this command (DISP OFF), you can only enabled it again from the remote
interface by sending the command (DISP ON).
– Sending a text message to the display (DISPlay:TEXT command) overrides the display state; this means that you
can display a message even if the display is turned off.
– The front panel display is automatically enabled when power is cycled, or after a Factory Reset (*RST command).
It is also enabled when you press the "Local" key. The OFF state is remembered if you return to remote mode.

DISPlay:TEXT?
Displays a text on the instrument's front panel display.
Parameter Typical return
"<string>" = A quoted string of up to 40 characters. You can use letters (A-Z), numbers (0-
9), and special characters like "@", "%", "*", and so on. Use "#" character to display a
degree symbol (° ).
"Test in progress..."
Show text message on display: DISP:TEXT "Test in progress..."
– While a text is displayed on the front panel, readings from a scan or monitor are not sent to the front panel dis-
play.
– To clear the displayed text, send the text clear command (DISPlay:TEXT:CLEar).
– Sending a text message to the display (DISPlay:TEXT command) overrides the display state; this means that you
can display a message even if the display is turned off.
– The display text is not stored as part of the instrument state by the *SAV command.
– The front panel display is automatically cleared when power is cycled, or after a Factory Reset (*RST command).
