SYSTem:ALARm?
Only supported on multiplexer modules (DAQM900A, DAQM901A, DAQM902A, and DAQM908A) and
DAQM907A multifunction module.
Reads the alarm data from the alarm queue (one alarm event is read and deleted from the queue each time this com-
mand is executed). A record of up to 20 alarms can be stored in the instrument's alarm queue.
Parameter Typical return
(none) 2.41286927E+01 C,2018,02,03,10,10,38.625,101,1,1
Reads one message from the alarm queue:SYST:ALAR?
The query returns a string in the form shown below (independent of FORMat:READing commands):
2.41286927E+01 C
Reading with units (24.129 °C)
2018,02,03
Date (February 3, 2018)
10,10,38.625
Time of day (10:10:38.625 AM)
101 Channel number
1 Alarm limit threshold crossed (0 = No Alarm, 1 = LO, 2 = HI)
1 Alarm number (1-4)
– Each time you start a new scan, the instrument clears all readings (including alarm data) stored in reading
memory from the previous measurement. Therefore, the contents of memory are always from the most recent
scan.
– Alarm data is retrieved in first-in-first-out (FIFO) order. The first alarm returned is the first alarm that was stored.
– Up to 20 alarms can be logged in the alarm queue. If more than 20 alarms are generated, they will be cleared
(only the first 20 alarms are saved).
– Use the FETCh? command to retrieve scanned memory readings and alarm data from reading memory without
clearing the information.
– The alarm queue is cleared by the *CLS (clear status) command, when power is cycled, and by reading all of the
entries. A Factory Reset (*RST command) or Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet command) does not clear the
alarm queue.
