SYSTem:COMMunicate:GPIB:ADDRess <address>
SYSTem:COMMunicate:GPIB:ADDRess?
Assigns instrument's GPIB (IEEE-488) address, which is displayed at power-on. Each device on the GPIB interface
must have a unique address.
The GPIB interface is only available on the DAQ973A.
Parameter Typical return
<address> = 0 to 30
Default: 9
+15
Set GPIB address to 15:
SYST:COMM:GPIB:ADDR 15
– Your computer's GPIB interface card has its own address. Avoid using this address for any instrument on the
GPIB bus.
– Cycle power for this command to take effect.
– GPIB is enabled or disabled by SYSTem:COMMunicate:ENABle.
– This setting is non-volatile; it is not changed by power cycling, a Factory Reset (*RST), or an Instrument Preset
(SYSTem:PRESet).
– This parameter is set to its default value when the instrument is shipped from the factory and after
SYSTem:SECurity:IMMediate.
SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:CONTrol?
Reads and returns the control connection port number for Socket communications. Connection is used to send
and receive commands and queries. If 0 is returned, the interface does not support a Socket Control connection.
Parameter Typical return
(none) +5000 (if the interface does not support sockets)
Returns the control connection port number.
SYST:COMM:LAN:CONT?
Typical response: +5005
– This query is only used when programming over Sockets.
– You can use the Socket Control connection to send a Device Clear to the instrument or to detect pending Ser-
vice Request (SRQ) events.
