SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:DHCP {OFF | ON}
SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:DHCP?
Enables (On) or disables (Off) the use of the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for the instrument.
ON: The instrument will try to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server. If a DHCP server is found, it will assign a
dynamic IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway to the instrument. If a DHCP server is not found, the instru-
ment uses AutoIP to automatically configure its IPsetting in the Automatic Private IP Addressing range
(169.254.xxx.xxx).
OFF: The instrument will use the static IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway during power-on.
If you change this setting, you must execute a SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:UPDate command to activ-
ate the setting.

– Most site LANs have a DHCP server.
– SYSTem:SECurity:IMMediate sets this parameter to its default value.
– If a DHCP LAN address is not assigned by a DHCP server, then an AutoIP address static IP will be assumed after
approximately two minutes.
– The DHCP setting is stored in non-volatile memory, and does not change when power has been off, after a Fact-
ory Reset (*RST) or after an Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet).
