The Sabbath function was integrated to account for the particularities in the Jewish faith community.
Sabbath mode is activated/deactivated with the parameter “I: Sabbath mode” and Sabbath standby
mode with the parameter “I: Standby Sabbath mode”. For the indication of active Sabbath mode, car
and landing operating panels are equipped with a display. More information about the functions is
presented below.
Standby Sabbath mode
All calls are deleted and the lift parks on main landing with open doors.
All displays turn on (both on car and landing operating panels) except from the display on
main landing.
All push buttons in the car are deactivated (Exception: emergency call button).
Car light and fan are deactivated.
Sabbath mode
All push buttons in the car are deactivated (Exception: emergency call button).
Car light and fan are activated automatically and will operate continuously.
All displays turn on(both on car and landing operating panels).
The lift serves all landings periodically: up and down
In each landing the lift stops and waits for 10-15 seconds (adjustable) before continuing
its travel.
In the main landing the lift waits for 2-4 minutes (adjustable) before continuing its travel.
Photocell inputs will be deactivated and car doors will only close with reduced speed. A
buzzer sounds 3 sec before door starts closing. In case of an interruption, door fully opens
and the lift waits for 6 sec and then attempts to close the door again. The procedure will
be repeated until the door is closed.
Deactivation of function: The lift can either return to normal or Standby Sabbath mode.
I. Return to normal mode:
If the lift isn’t already parked on the main landing, it will continue its travel (according to Sabbath
mode) until it travels back to it. The lift remains parked there for 30 seconds (adjustable) and the
displays, both in car and landings remain on during this time interval. When the time elapses, doors
close and all the displays turn off.
II. Return to Standby Sabbath mode:
If the lift isn’t already parked on the main landing, it will continue its travel (according to Sabbath
mode) until it travels back to it. Sabbath Standby mode will be activated and the steps mentioned
above will be followed.
