Braking
Braking is accomplished by bringing the drive lever to
the NEUTRAL position.
If a loss of hydraulic pressure occurs, the roller can be
stopped with the Parking Brake button:
• Place drive lever in NEUTRAL (center position).
• Pull Parking Brake button.

Vibratory Compactor
The vibratory compactor drum provides the roller with
additional compaction. (The non-towable roller weight
is 5,640 pounds [2,558 kg] static, while the static weight
of the towable roller is 6,760 pounds [3066 kg]).
The force of compaction will increase by 2,800 pounds
[1,270 kg] the vibrator is engaged.
To start the vibrator:
1. Tum the vibrator switch to ON.
2. Move the roller forward or in reverse to start
vibrator.
3. When the drive lever is in the NEUTRAL position,
vibration will automatically stop. Vibration will begin
again when the drive lever is engaged.
4. When nished with compaction, tum the vibrator
switch to OFF.
Water Spray System
The water spray system is designed to provide an even
spray across the surface of each roller drum, ensuring
an even amount of water is on the drum during the rolling
process.
To operate the water spray system:
1. Turn water spray valve to OPEN. The water spray
valve is located on the left side of the console.
(Figure 4-3)
2. Turn on pump (switch is on the operator’s console).
3. Spray down the front and rear drum using spray
nozzle. (Figure 4-4)
4. Shut off water spray valve by turning valve to SHUT.
5. Close the water spray valve.

NOTE: To prevent water freezing in tank during cold
weather, drain the water system by opening the valve
below the pump.
Never operate the roller while the
water tank is raised.
