5. If needed, add hydraulic oil at the hydraulic oil
strainer ll cap. (Figure 5-14)
6. Check the hydrualic oil level at the sight gauge to
assure oil level reaches the black ll line. (Figure
5-13)
7. DO NOT overll the tank. Leave approximately one
inch (25mm) of space for expansion of hot oil.
8. Clean any spilled oil with a clean cloth.
Change Hydraulic Filter
Burn Injury Hazard! Hot hydraulic
oil can burn upon contact with the skin. Change
hydraulic charge lter while system is warm, not hot.
Avoid contact with hot hydraulic oil. Failure to obey
this warning could result in serious injury.
1. Refer to Preparing Machine for Maintenance on
Page 5-6 and park machine.
2. Allow the engine to cool completely.
3. Open the access panel on oor of the operator’s
station to access the hydraulic oil tank.
4. Close the hydraulic oil tank supply line gate valves
located on the hydraulic tank by turning the valve
handles counterclockwise.
DO NOT start machine while the
hydraulic oil tank supply line gate vales are closed.
Starting the engine will damage the hydraulic pump.

5. Turn the hydraulic oil lter counterclockwise to
remove. (Figure 5-15)
6. Clean the mounting surface and remove any loose
lter seals.
7. Install the new lter, turning it clockwise until the seal
contacts the mounting surface. Tighten the lter 1/2
to 3/4 additional turns.
8. Open hydraulic tank supply line gate valves by
turning the valve handles clockwise.
9. Start engine and check for leaks. Tighten lter if
necessary.
Check and Clean Hydraulic Oil
Strainer Fill Cap
Wear eye protection and chemical
resistant gloves when using solvent for cleaning
purposes. Some solvents can cause skin irritation
and eye damage.
1. Remove hydraulic oil tank strainer ll cap (Figure
5-14) by turning counterclockwise and inspect for
damage. Check strainer cap for dirt and clogging.
2. Using solvent, clean the strainer ll cap thoroughly
and dry with compressed air.
3. Check the strainer ll cap for free air ow. Replace if
necessary.
4. Reinstall hydraulic oil strainer ll cap by turning
clockwise.
