NOTE: The following troubleshooting solutions
include common problems encountered with
diesel engines. For additional information
and troubleshooting procedures, see the
Engine Manufacturer’s Manual.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The troubleshooting chart below identies the most
common symptoms of failure. Use this chart to help
identify the failed component.
SYMPTOM CAUSE REMEDY
Engine will not turn over. Electrical issue (i.e., faulty wiring).
Check battery.
Check ignition switch.
Check neutral safety switch.
Check starter solenoid.
Check engine ground.
Engine will not start. See Engine Manual. See Engine Operator’s Manual.
Water system will not operate.
No water in machine.
Water ow is restricted.
Water pump isnot working properly.
water pump electrical connections
are faulty.
Check water level.
Check strainer under the tank.
Check nozzle strainer.
Check water pump:
Check pump switch.
Check hot wire to pump.
Check ground to pump.
Forward/Reverse Lever will not
stay in position or is too tight.
Lack of grease.
Improper adjustment.
Grease.
Adjust friction nut at bottom of left lever.
Difculty with steering while
vibrator is in operation.
Vibrator bearings worn or damaged.
Check hydraulic system.
Replace bearings.
Vibrator will not operate. Electrical issue.
Lack of hydraulic pressure.
Mechanical issue with motor.
Check neutral safety switch to make
certain power is reaching the vibratory
valve.
Unfasten pressure line to vibrator motor
and attach the pressure guage. Start
engine. Pressure should immediately
reect 1800 - 2000 psi on the gauge
when vibrator is engaged. Turn off
engine.
Unbolt hydraulic motor from the drum.
Refasten pressure line. Start engine
to see if motor is operating. Turn off
engine.
Check if vibrator shaft turns freely. If the
shaft turns freely, the motor needs to be
replaced.
NOTE: Shaft is heavier on one side
than the other.
