Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
a. Remove the top cover. See
“Remove the top cover” on page 132.
b. Remove the PCIe riser assembly. See
“Remove the PCIe riser assembly” on page 99.
Step 2. Remove the PCIe adapter.
a.
Disengage the adapter by pulling it straight out of the riser cage.
b.
If necessary, install the fillers.

Note: Remove one adapter at a time, do not pull out two adapters at the same time.
Step 3. Record the cable connections on the adapter; then, disconnect all cables from the adapter.
After you finish
If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Install a PCIe adapter (Riser)
Use this information to install a PCIe adapter to the riser.
