• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
“Power off the server” on page 11.
• If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack.
Note: Both rack latches are removed and installed in a similar method.

Procedure
Step 1. Remove the security bezel if it is installed. See
“Remove the security bezel” on page 121.
Step 2. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the ID label plate on the right rack latch and place it in a
safe place.

Step 3. Remove the two screws on the side of the server that secure the rack latch.

Step 4. Slide the latch backwards and remove it from the server.
