Grip on the handle and rotate it all the way up until it is in the vertical position.
Lift the riser cage to remove it from the server.
Remove the 7mm drive cage

Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
a. If drives or fillers have been installed, remove them (see “Remove a 7mm drive” on page 171).
b. Remove the top cover (see “Remove the top cover” on page 170).
c. Remove the PCIe bracket cage from Zone 2 next to the power supplies (see “Remove a 4U
PCIe riser cage” on page 173).
d. Disconnect the cables from the 7mm drive cage.
Step 2. Remove the 7mm drive cage.

Remove the two screws that secure the drive cage.
Slide the drive cage forward to remove it.
Remove the M.2 backplane bracket assembly and drives
Follow instructions in this section to remove the M.2 drive backplane bracket assembly and drives.
