2.2 Device and application-specific safety instructions
• During operation, the communication module must be securely connected to the standard de-
vice.
• Always use a separate power supply unit safely separated according to EN 61800-5-1 ("SELV/
PELV") in every control cabinet for external voltage supply.
• Only use cables corresponding to the given specifications.

• If the Inverter Drives 8400 are operated on a phase-earthed mains with a rated mains voltage
of ≥ 400 V, external measures need to be implemented in order to ensure protection against ac-
cidental contact.

stroyed by electrostatic discharge.
