High Efficiency Function (Cooling
Operation) (Fn10)
High Efficiency Function (Cooling Operation) increases compressor
capability so the system can cool at high ambient temperatures. It
automatically reduces the target low pressure as the outdoor ambi-
ent temperatures rises.
The function increases compressor operation, so net energy use will
also rise.
Use for cooling-dominant installations, and on both heat pump and
heat recovery systems.
Always verify the refrigerant charge is correct before using this function.

Select from “oFF” or “on” options by using the SW03C forward

The High Efficiency Function in Cooling Operation is set.

Low Ambient Kit Function (Fn9)
The function notifies the outdoor unit that a low ambient kit is
installed. Use in zones that will need cooling when outdoor ambient
temperatures fall below 5ºF.
Optional low ambient baffle kits allow for Multi V 5 outdoor unit
operation down to -9.9°F. When used with heat recovery operation,
low ambient cooling to -9.9°F is possible only when all indoor units
are operating in cooling mode. Also when used with heat recovery
systems, if one (1) or more indoor units are in heating, minimum
cooling cycle ambient temperature is 14°F (low ambient wind baffle
kit does not impact synchronous operating range).
For use on both heat pump and heat recovery systems.
