Am plifier set up: am plifier set up activates the recording input s in preparat ion for a recording. For
m ost applications you need perform am plifier set up only once – when t he syst em is first inst alled –
since t he am plifier set up is saved with t he recording m ont age for fut ure recall and usage. See St ep
4 below.
I f you want to use t he recording channel order defined in am plifier setup, click on Aut o Record
Set up in the Set up Recording dialog box. You can then skip Step 4 (Define t he r ecording channels) .
Over all sa m pling rat e: you can select t he overall sam pling rat e for EEG channels from the Set up
Hardware EEG dialog ( Figure 9) . Once a sam pling rat e has been select ed for one EEG input , you
can apply it to all EEG input s by putt ing a checkm ark against ‘All EEGs sam e Sam ple Rat e’. I f there
is no check m ark, you can select different sam ple rates on each EEG input – useful if you want to
apply an EOG signal t o an EEG input .
I nde pen de n t sa m ple ra t es: if the independent sam ple rat es feat ure is enabled in t he Trackit
Mk3 firm ware, it m ay be act ivated when required from a checkbox in t he Options dialog box
(choose View > Ot her Opt ions).
Not es:
1 Not all review soft ware supports independent sam ple rates. Check wit h t he vendor that your re-
view soft ware does support t hem .
2 The Trackit Mk3 firm ware m ust b revision 2.1.X or lat er.
3 I t m ay be necessary t o enter an unlock code int o Tr ackit Mk3 to enable t his feature. I f t he fea-
ture is not enabled, a warning m essage appears when a set up is sent t o the recorder.
To enable m ult iple independent sam ple rat es in t he recorder:
1 Click on Trackit Control Panel in the Trackit t oolbar.
2 Click on Advanced Operat ions, then choose Configurat ion from t he Sett ings Menu.
3 Copy t he key code and em ail it to your Lifelines represent at ive st ating that you wish to have t he
m ult iple independent sam ple rat e feature enabled. You will then receive back an act ivation code
that you should copy and past e into t he em pty Trackit configuration st ring field.
4 Press the Set Trackit but t on to enable the feat ure.
5 Choose Other Opt ions from t he View Menu, and put a checkm ar k in the Allow Multi-sam ple rates
check box.
Poly an d AUX inpu t s: poly input s are low- level inputs, just like t he EEG inputs, but differ in t hat
they can be set t o either referent ial ( EEG m ode), bipolar AC or bipolar DC. They are ideal for poly-
graphic signals such as respirat ion, airflow, EKG, body posit ion (DC m ode) etc. See t he t able in ap-
pendix 2 describing t he input s and their application.
The AUX inputs are high-level DC, and should not be used for low- level signals obt ained from
t ransducers such as passive respirat ion sensors ( piezo electric) , airflow t herm ocouples etc. The
AUX input s are designed t o receive a high- level isolated DC signal ( calibrat ed output from a CPAP
m achine, oxygen sat urat ion m et er et c) .
To calibrat e an AUX input to reflect a required unit of scale for a given voltage input use t he signal
editor - see Figure 8). Select t he appropriat e unit s, e.g. % , or m m Hg, and ent er t he Physical Sig-
nal Am plit ude required to generat e t he Am plifier I nput Voltage.
Step 4 Define the recording channels
St ep 4 can usually be skipped, since t he Auto Record Setup but t on will copy what you have defined
under t he input s in St ep 3 int o the list of recording channels.
However, you can define and save recording m ont ages for spe-
cific recording needs, and recall them for fut ure usage. You can
define up t o 40 recording channels in a m ont age.
Creating a m ontage follows t he sam e principle as the signal
creat ion and input definit ion tool: click on t he channel num ber
to define t he act ive and reference label of choice. See Figure
12.
