Channel
A logical signal within a port. For example, for an EC-1 port, there is one STS-1 channel
and sometimes 28 VT1.5 channels. See Port.
Channel State Provisioning
A feature that allows a user to suppress reporting of alarms and events during
provisioning by supporting multiple states (automatic, in-service and not monitored) for
VT1.5 and STS-1 channels. See Port State Provisioning.
