4.1 CPAP system components
A CPAP system based on a medin-NC3® comprises the following components:
- CPAP driver: the medin-NC3®
- Medijet® nCPAP generator together with a suitable prong or mask
- An acve respiratory gas humidier to humidify the respiratory gas (recommended)
- A paent tube circuit set that ts the paent gas outlet, CPAP pressure meter inlet of the medin-
NC3®, the Medijet® and the respiratory gas humidier selected
- A bonnet of the correct size
- A system for monitoring the paent’s oxygen saturaon and checking the ecacy of CPAP therapy
(this is an essenal condion for the use of the medin-NC3®)
Please note:
The medin-NC3® should always be used in combinaon with an acve respiratory gas humidier in order to avoid
the paent’s airways drying out and cooling.
The CPAP system must be established and the device checked before starng any CPAP therapy using the
medin-NC3®. This check starts automacally whenever the device is started up.
The device should not be connected to a paent during set-up and system start. Moreover, during set-up, system
start and operaon, the user should not simultaneously touch the paent and the device. This applies above all to
the power supply, the RS232 or USB interface and the accessible metal parts of the pneumac unit (gas connecons,
overpressure valve and mounng screws).
