Note:
The sensivity must be set to less than the paent's respiraon and greater than the pressure uctuaons caused
by other sources (e.g. condensate in the ow tube).
Please note:
When selecng the push ow and sensivity, it is important to ensure that the pressure during the push will become
greater than the upper threshold of the sensivity selected. Otherwise the apnea phase will not be interrupted
by the push.

Display:
When operang in apnea CPAP mode, the current respiraon rate (RR - breaths >1 mbar per minute) and number
of pushes automacally generated by the medin-NC3® per minute (R
insp
) are shown in the orange bar on the top of
the screen in addion to the informaon referred to in chapter 5.2.
If the backup funcon is acvated, this is likewise displayed.
5.9 Backup funcon
The Backup funcon can only be acvated in the Apnea CPAP mode. In the Sengs mode, it can be switched on or
o and the desired backup rate can be set.
Seng the backup rate is possible in intervals of 5 between 5/min and 120/min. The rate seng depends on the
inspiraon me. The greater the inspiraon me, the smaller the maximum backup rate.
The type of display of the push alarm can be selected from the following seng opons: visual, acousc, visual &
acousc, and text only.
If the backup funcon is acvated, the backup pushes with the set backup rate will be issued in the event of apnea
aer the apnea me has passed and support or smulate the paent. If paent respiraon is detected, the backup
will automacally end.
In addion, the buon Push becomes the End backup buon. This can be used if the medin-NC3® does not
independently detect respiraon and the backup funcon therefore does not automacally end. Then the backup
can be manually disconnued by the user with this buon.
In the trend, backup pushes administered are indicated with a blue line.
5.10 NIPPV mode
In the NIPPV (Non-Invasive Posive Pressure Venlaon) mode, venlaon is supported on two dierent pressure
levels. The user adjusts the intensity of both levels via the ow and addional ow (F
insp
) as well as the rate and
me spent at the upper pressure level.
