Depending on the FiO
2
alarm preset in the service menu, the change in the oxygen concentraon aects the limits
of the oxygen alarm:
- FiO
2
alarm automac: At the same me as the change in the oxygen concentraon, the limits for the
oxygen alarm are also adapted to the new oxygen concentraon.
- FiO
2
alarm manual: The change in the target oxygen concentraon does not aect the limits of the
oxygen alarm. Aer changing the oxygen concentraon, these limits have the same values as before
the change. They can only be adjusted manually to the new oxygen values. For this purpose, the user
must open the Alarm sengs menu and manually update the alarm thresholds (see chapter 5.13).
Please note:
The oxygen concentraon in the paent ow does not change unl the new oxygen concentraon has been
conrmed. Only then can the eect of the changed oxygen concentraon on the paent be observed.
As long as an O
2
ush is acve, the target oxygen concentraon FiO
2
cannot be changed. Only aer a manual
premature end or aer an automac end of the O
2
ush can the FiO
2
seng be changed once again (see chapter 5.4).
5.4 O
2
ush
The O
2
ush oers the possibility of increasing the oxygen concentraon emied for one minute. Then the set target
oxygen concentraon is automacally emied once again.
Seng the level:
The automac duraon of the O
2
ush is 1 min. However, it can be disconnued early by pressing the buon. The
level of the O
2
ush can be changed by the user in the respecve Sengs mode. This can be opened by pressing the
p buon in Figure 5-2. Here the seng of the level of the O
2
ush can now be acvated by pressing the r buon in
Figure 5-2. The following are available for selecon: +5, +10 and +15, and this can be selected by turning the dial. A
nal pressing of the dial conrms the new seng which takes eect as of the next newly started O
2
ush. O
2
ushes
already in progress will connue to be performed with the old seng. The selected level of the O
2
ush determines
the emied oxygen concentraon during an O
2
ush: Thus, for example, during an O
2
ush, an oxygen concentraon
should be emied which is 5, 10 or 15 vol. % greater than the set target value of the oxygen concentraon (aects
seng +5, +10, +15). Given a target oxygen concentraon of 25% and an O
2
ush with the seng +10, an oxygen
content of 35% would be emied during the O
2
ush. However, a maximum of 100% oxygen can be emied.
Start of an O
2
ush:
The start buon for an O
2
ush is located behind the FiO
2
buon and can be selected by pressing this buon twice
(buon b in Figure 5-2). If the start buon has a green background, pressing the dial can start the O
2
ush. Now the
medin-NC3® automacally emits an increased oxygen concentraon for one minute.
Disconnuaon of an O
2
ush:
As long as an O
2
ush is acve, the O
2
ush disconnuaon buon can be found at posion b in Figure 5-2 instead
of the FiO
2
seng buon. If this is selected by pressing buon b in Figure 5-2 and then conrmed by pressing the
dial, the O
2
ush is immediately disconnued. If, on the other hand, the O
2
ush is not disconnued early by the
user, it ends automacally aer one minute and the buon FiO
2
target value is displayed once again.
