In addion to the seng, acon and informaon opons which are present in CPAP mode, such as:

there are special sengs for the NIPPV mode. These NIPPV sengs can be opened by pressing the p buon
in Figure 5-2, which oers the possibility of changing three parameters. To change a parameter, press the
corresponding buon to select it, turn the dial to the desired seng, and press the dial to conrm your selecon.

situaon of both pressure levels. They are not displayed by the medin-NC3®.
Inspiraon: Figure 5-4 a
The seng in this eld determines both the me spent at the upper pressure level and also the duraon of pushes
triggered manually. It can be set to a me between 200 milliseconds and 3 seconds.
NIPPV rate Figure 5-4 b – Similar to chapter 5.9 Backup funcon. The set rate at which a switch is made between
the upper and lower ow level and pressure level.

5.11 High Flow mode
High Flow mode (also known as HHHFNC = Heated Humidied High Flow Nasal Cannula, or nHFT = nasal High Flow
Therapy) diers from the CPAP modes in that in this case, no Medijet® but rather a suitable Nuow® cannula is
used and the ow is limited to a maximum of 12 L/min.
