4.3 Starng up the system
Please note:
When switching the device on, the "on/o" buon must be held down.
The medin-NC3® is started and its system test is automacally triggered by pressing the "On/O" buon (Figure 5-1
g). This test examines the funcons of the medin-NC3®, checks the oxygen calibraon and determines the properes
of the tube system to which it is connected.
Make sure that no paent is connected to the medin-NC3® throughout the enre duraon of the system test, and
press "Ok" to conrm this.
If an error is detected during the system test, this is indicated by an error message. See chapter 8.1 for the meaning
of the individual error messages.
The funcon of the mechanical overpressure valve must also be checked during the system test. This is done by
briey blocking the paent gas outlet (Figure 4-4-right) and observing during this me whether the overpressure
valve (see Figure 4-1 d)) opens and closes.
In order to determine the characterisc course of the ow CPAP pressure of the paent tube system used and to check
the CPAP pressure sensors, the enre tube system and the Medijet® must now be connected to the medin-NC3® and
the Medijet® prong adapter must be closed. Once this has been done, the process of measuring the tube system
can be started by pressing the "OK" buon.
If oxygen calibraon is necessary, this is carried out automacally.
If the system test is completed without errors, the medin-NC3® starts up in CPAP mode and can be used on the paent.
Warning:
- The system start test must always be conducted and completed before connecng the medin-NC3®
to a paent.
- No paent may be connected to the medin-NC3® during the system test.
- If an error is detected during the system test, the device must not be used or connected to a paent
under any circumstances.
