4.3 Starng up the system
Please note:
When switching the device on, the "on/o" buon must be held down.
The medin-NC3® is started and its system test is automacally triggered by pressing the "On/O" buon (Figure 5-1 –
g). This test examines the funcons of the medin-NC3®, checks the oxygen calibraon and determines the properes
of the tube system to which it is connected.
Make sure that no paent is connected to the medin-NC3® throughout the enre duraon of the system test, and
press "Ok" to conrm this.
If an error is detected during the system test, this is indicated by an error message. See chapter 8.1 for the meaning
of the individual error messages.
The funcon of the mechanical overpressure valve must also be checked during the system test. This is done by
briey blocking the paent gas outlet (Figure 4-4-right) and observing during this me whether the overpressure
valve (see Figure 4-1 d)) opens and closes.
In order to determine the characterisc course of the ow CPAP pressure of the paent tube system used and to check
the CPAP pressure sensors, the enre tube system and the Medijet® must now be connected to the medin-NC3® and
the Medijet® prong adapter must be closed. Once this has been done, the process of measuring the tube system
can be started by pressing the "OK" buon.
If oxygen calibraon is necessary, this is carried out automacally.
If the system test is completed without errors, the medin-NC3® starts up in CPAP mode and can be used on the paent.
Warning:
- The system start test must always be conducted and completed before connecng the medin-NC3®
to a paent.
- No paent may be connected to the medin-NC3® during the system test.
- If an error is detected during the system test, the device must not be used or connected to a paent
under any circumstances.
