b. Outer Shaft - Position unit with shafts positioned down. Position dial indicator on out-
er propeller shaft. Rotate outer propeller shaft while observing dial indicator. If de-
flection is more than .010 in. (0.254 mm), a bent outer propeller shaft is indicated.

1. Remove, empty and clean gear lube monitor.
2. Remove vent plug.
