Chapter 3 Settings
Setting auto power-off
Automatically turns off the machine after it has been
left idle for the specified time.

With the screen in local mode, select
[MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then
press the [ENTER] key.
The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed.

Select [AUTO Power-off] and press the
[ENTER] key.

Select a setting value and press the
[ENTER] key.
Setting value :5–60 min.
Setting remaining media display
Set whether the remaining amount of media is displayed.

With the screen in local mode, select
[MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then
press the [ENTER] key.
The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed.

Select [MEDIA REMAIN] and press the
[ENTER] key.

Select a setting value and press the
[ENTER] key.
Setting value: ON / OFF
Setting the language
Changes the display language.

With the screen in local mode, select
[MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then
press the [ENTER] key.
The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed.

Select [LANGUAGE] and press the
[ENTER] key.

Select a language and press the [ENTER]
key.
Setting the time
You can set the time (time difference) in the country of
use.

With the screen in local mode, select
[MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then
press the [ENTER] key.
The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed.

Select [TIME] and press the [ENTER] key.

Select a setting value and press the
[ENTER] key.
Time selection: Select with []/[] keys
Time input: Set with []/[] keys
Setting units (temperature/length)
Set the units used by the machine.

Registering and Correcting a Ink Cartridge
Required Items
Replacing with a New Ink Cartridge
Register the eco ink cartridge case weight.

Weigh the eco ink cartridge case.
With MEDIA REMAIN
set to ON
The remaining amount of media is
displayed in remote mode.
With MEDIA REMAIN
set to OFF
The remaining amount of media is not
displayed in remote mode.
The amount of media left is determined by the
amount of media fed both by printing and by
using the jog keys.
Media length (equivalent to the initial value of the
amount remaining) is entered when roll media is
detected ( P.2-7 [Entering the remaining
amount of media]).
Takes effect when media is detected after this
setting is made.
With MEDIA REMAIN set to ON, you can print a
list of current media remaining and the date
( P.2-7 [Printing information about the
remaining amount of media]).
Can be set in a range of -20 to +4 hours.
Eco-case
The ink pack and the ink IC chip
provided with the ink pack are placed
in the eco ink cartridge case.

Scale
The weight of the cartridge is
registered to calculate the amount of
remaining ink. Use a scale capable of
weighing in 1 g increments.
Do not perform registration if not replacing the
eco ink cartridge with a new one.
Do not install the ink pack and the ink IC chip at
the stage.
