6.4.6 Stereo supporting woofers
An alternative approach to enhancing bass reproduction in a stereo system is to use two “supporting” woofers –
one under or near each speaker. They could be subwoofers capable of producing very deep and loud bass or
woofers of the type normally used in a three-way speaker.
In this configuration, the crossover filters are used to split the frequency range to the woofers and main
speakers. The crossover frequency may range up to perhaps 300 Hz.
On the Outputs tab:
• Rename the output channels (from left to right) to “Left FR”, “Right FR”, “Left W” and “Right W”.
• Set a high pass crossover filter on channels 1 and 2 (“Left FR” and “Right FR”). For example:
