Connect
the
jumper
cables
as
fol -
lows
:
(1)
Connect
one end
of
one
jumper
cable to the positive terminal
of
the discharged battery, and the
other
end
to
the
positive
termi-
nal
of
the booster battery.
(2)
Connect
one end
of
the
other
jumper
cable
to
the
nagative
terminal of the booster battery,
and the other end
to
the
engine
block
of
the vehicle
with
the
discharged battery at
the
point
farthest from the battery.

CAUTION
(1)
Do
not
allow
the
jumper
cable
clips
to
touch
one
another.
(2)
Do
not
connect
the
jumper
cable
to
the
negative
terminal
of
the
discharged
battery.
The
battery
generates
explosive
gas, and a
spark
caused
when
the
jumper
cable
is
discon-
nected
from
the
negative
ter-
minal
could
ignite
this gas
and
cause an explosion.
(3)
Use
care
not
to
get
the
jumper
cables
caught
by
turning
parts
such
as
cooling
fan
in
the
en-
gine
compartment.
