Bleeding
the
fuel
system
(diesel-powered
vehicles
only)

The fuel system
should
be bled
to
re-
move air
as
described
below
if the fuel
supply
is exhausted
during
travel.
1. Loosen the air
plug
at
the
top
of the
fuel filter.
2.
Pump the hand
pump
until
there
are
no
more bubbles in the
fuel
coming
out
of
the air plug.
When
doing
this,
place a c
loth
around the air
plug
to
prev
ent
the escaping fuel from
spewing
about.
3.
Tight
en the air plug
when
there
are
no more
bubbl
es
in the fuel.
4.
Continu
e
pumping
until
the hand
pump
becomes stiff.
5. Finally, check to be sure
that
there
is
no leakage of fuel.
