5.1 Troubleshooting
When the Counter does not operate as expected, refer to the cause of the trouble and the solutions
shown below:
Problem Cause Solution
Power does not
go on
Connector plug is improperly
connected.
Power is not supplied to the correct pins.
Tips

Adapter (Optional)" on page 18.
The counter
value is incorrect
(not counting).
Parameters are not correctly
set for the type of the Linear
Gage, etc.
Set correct parameters.

Peak mode is set to maximum
value, minimum value or run-
out width.
Set the peak mode to current value display.
Tips
For details, see "3.2.3 Peak Hold" on page 25.
The HOLD signal is being
input.
Check the external input.
Cannot execute
Zero setting.
The preset value is set to
something other than 0.
Do preset with the preset value set to 0.

Linear Gage
cannot be con-
nected.
You are trying to connect a
Linear Gage with 6-pin or
8-pin connector.
Use the optional adapter cable.

The EJ Counter can only be connected to a Lin-

output. Other Linear Gages can be used in com-
bination with the EC Counter or EH Counter.

Indicates the origin detection wait state.
When the connected Linear Gage with origin
mark is operated, the origin is acquired and then
display switches to counter display.
