4 Commissioning
4.1 Notes for operation
ATTENTION!
• Safety instructions
Observe the safety instructions set out in chapter1 during operation.
• During operation
be sure to avoid ...
− penetration of the device by foreign bodies or damp;
− aggressive or conductive substances in the immediate vicinity;
− covering over vent openings.
• Cooling
− The device heats up in operation and at the heat sink may reach temper-
atures of up to +100 °C (+212°F). It poses a risk of skin burns if touched.
− Cooling air must be able to flow through the device without restriction.
NOTE: For commissioning and operation of the DC-AC servo drive within a
MSD Servo Drive multi-axis system, be sure also to refer to the Operation
Manual for the MSDPowerSupplyUnit or the supplying
MSDServoDriveAC-AC.

4.2 Initial commissioning
When the MSD Servo Drive DC-AC has been installed as per section2 and wired with all
required voltage supplies and external components as per section3, initial commission-
ing is carried out in the following steps:
