Recovery Phase
When the last exercise stage is completed the X-Scribe will automatically enter the Recovery phase. The user can
also manually enter the Recovery phase by clicking on Recovery or F1. The treadmill or ergometer will change to
the specified recovery speed and grade percent or watts level, then turn off once the recovery period has been
completed. The user can manually shut down the treadmill or ergometer by clicking on Treadmill or Ergometer,
then OFF.
At the start of the Recovery phase, the stage time clock resets to zero, the exercise time clock freezes at the total
exercise time amount, and an automatic printout generates (when going from “Exercise” to “Recovery” a Peak
Exercise printout always generates regardless of settings). Menu items function in recovery same as they did in
exercise; however, in Recovery phase the user can also add or edit the patient data and some final report fields
(reasons for test end, symptoms, conclusions, technician, and reviewing physician information). The user can enter
or acquire BP values, events, and ECGs as they were entered during the Exercise phase of the test. X-Scribe
generates automatic BP prompts and ECGs if programmed to do so. 12-lead ECGs can be printed at any time by
clicking on ECG or F11. At the end of the Recovery phase, click on End to enter the Final Report phase of
the test. If configured (see Section 5), X-Scribe will ask “Are you Sure?” Select Yes to confirm end of test or
Cancel to return to the test.
Final Report Phase (Report Manager with Summary Statistics)
When the Recovery phase is ended, X-Scribe will advance to Report Manager and display summary statistics for
the test.
A real-time 7.5 second ECG displays in the lower left-hand portion of the screen.
At any time you may change the lead, print a 12-lead ECG, or print a rhythm strip.
The summary region will present total exercise time, maximum treadmill speed, and maximum grade or
watts (for ergometers), as well as leads displaying greater than 100 microvolt’s of ST change.
Max values are presented as HR and time-achieved percentage of target HR achieved, and maximum
METs obtained. This is followed by Double Product, maximum systolic BP, and maximum diastolic BP.
Maximum ST measurements are presented with elevation, depression, total change, and ST/HR Index.
Duke and FAI score if applicable:
NOTE: FAI % statistic is present only if you use the Bruce protocol.
Use the drop-down menus for entry of:
Reasons for test end
Symptoms
Conclusions
Diagnosis and secondary diagnosis
Clinical procedure and additional procedures if required
Technician and physician performing study
DUKE Score:
The physician may select from a drop-down window as to the clinical assessment of the Duke Score:
No angina
Non-limiting angina
Exercise-limiting angina
