6.2.5.3 About the XML file exchange plug-in
The XML file exchange plug-in is a simple interfacing tool that allows you to
connect to your EMR system with a simple custom configuration.
The XML plug-in supports the order workflow and the direct-start workflow.
Supported Features
EasyOne Connect and EasyOne Pro/LAB support the following features:
• Receiving patient demographics from your EMR system
• Sending test results to your EMR system
• Working with orders
• File-based message exchange
• Sending discrete data
• Sending reports

ndd offers a software development kit that enables third parties and
customers to develop customized EMR plug-ins to interface with any EMR
system.

6.2.6 Working with your EMR system
6.2.6.1 Processing orders from your EMR system
If you have interfaced your EMR system with EasyOne Connect or EasyOne Pro/
LAB through the HL7 plug-in or a custom EMR plug-in, you can access the
patient data of your EMR system in the orders menu in EasyOne Connect or on
EasyOne Pro/LAB. On the main menu, the additional Orders button is
displayed. This procedure represents the order workflow.
Prerequisite
You have configured the HL7 plug-in, the XML plug-in, or a custom
EMR plug-in.
