The relative point at which the expansion reaches its full 4:1 ratio is determined by the
settingoftheTransitionWidthcontrolineachband.
Thedetected amountof dynamics ineach band isindicatedinthe Dynamics meters.Tallerbars
indicate more inherent dynamics in the music, while shorter bars indicate less dynamics and are
generallytheinverseoftheExpansionRatiometers.TheresultofsettingsintheDynamicsDetector
toRatiomenucanbeobservedontheExpansionRatiometersintheUndoMeterWindow.
DensityDetectorBandWeighting
EachbandofUndo’sexpanderhasacorrespondingdensitydetector.The DensityDetectorBand
Weightingcontrolsallowyoutodeterminehowmuchcontroleachdetectorprovidesitsownband
as well as any other expander band. To put this concept into traditional processing terms, it is
similar to “band coupling” in a multiband compressor, where all bands may operate completely
independentlyofoneanotherormayinfluenceoneanotherbywayofcouplingtovaryingdegrees.
