TheHD1, HD2,and HD3 menus ofOmnia.9provide access to allsections of the HD processing
core(s)dependinguponconfiguration.Fromthismenu,youcanchoosetheinputsource,loadand
save presets, and make changes to the Parametric Equalizer, Downward Expanders, Input AGC,
WidebandAGC1,MultibandStereoEnhancer,MultibandAGCandLimiters,WidebandAGC2,Band
Mix,BassClipper,andFinalLimitersections.
ThevastmajorityofthemenusandcontrolsineachofOmnia.9’sHDProcessingcoresoperatejust
as their counterparts in the FM Processing core do. A detailed explanation of each menu and
controlcanbefoundandreferencedintheFMProcessingmenusectionofthismanual,andonly
controlsthataredifferentintheHDcoreswillbeexplainedhere.
BandMixMenu
TheBandMixmenucontainsthecontrolsfortheBassClipperandtheFinalLimiter.
TheBassClipperintheHDsectionsoperatesinthesamemannerasitscounterpartinthe
FMProcessingsection.
TheHDprocessingcoresdonotuseafinalclipperforpeakcontrol.Instead,theyusealook
aheadlimiter,whichisadjustablebytheFinalLimiterDrivecontrolandoperatesinarange
between6.00and+6.00dB in onequarterdB increments. Reducing limiter drive (sliding
thecontroltotheleft)reducestheamountoflimitingandgivesyouamoreopensound,but
attheexpenseofoverallloudness.Conversely,increasinglimiterdrive(movingthesliderto
theright)willresultinmorelimitingandalouderoutput,butattheexpenseofdynamics.
