z When you do not want the User Password enabled or changed without
permission:
Set [User Password Protection] using the following procedure:
A Using the Ï
key and the Ð key, select [User Password Protection] and press the
Enter
key.
B
Using either the
Ï
key or the
Ð
key, select [Protected] and press the
Enter
key.
8 Press the
F10
key and select [Yes], then press the
Enter
key.
When [Password on boot] is set to [Enable], it is impossible to start the computer without
knowing the password.
NOTE
z You cannot set [Password on boot] without setting the Supervisor Password. Set the
Supervisor Password if you have not done so (Î page 45)
z When starting up the Setup Utility, the password input screen will be displayed if a
Supervisor Password or Use Password has been set, even if [Password on boot] is set
to [Disable]

2 Using either the Î key or the Í key, select [Security].
3 Using either the Ï key or the Ð key, select [Password on boot] and
