Setting UTILITIES
The items set in Utilities are the following:
• Date
• Time
• Instrument ID
• Communications Protocol
Setting Date, Time, or Instrument ID
The date and time can be set whenever necessary. Changing the date and time
will effect only those samples collected after the change. Stored data will be
unaffected. An internal Lithium battery retains the date, time, and ID when the
AA batteries are removed.
About the Instrument ID
The Instrument ID is the unique address the PC-
LINK software must use to communicate with the HandiLaz Mini. No other
HandiLaz Mini should be assigned the same number.
To change the date, time, or instrument ID:

Navigate to OPTIONS on the main menu.

Press the
ENTER
key. The OPTIONS menu will open.

Navigate to UTILITIES, and press the
ENTER
key.
The UTILITIES setup display will open.

Press the
ENTER
key to navigate to the field to be changed.

Press the up ▲ or down ▼ key until the field displays the correct value.
6
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all fields are correct.
7
Press
PREV
to exit the UTILITIES setup display.
NOTE:
Pressing the
ENTER
key while the second digit of the ID is active opens
the Communications Protocol menu.
