Printer Setup
The HandiLaz Mini can directly produce print output by means of an optional
printer and print cable. Before the printer is used for the first time, its Mode
settings and Serial settings must be set to be compatible with HandiLaz Mini.
Setting the Printer’s Functions
Printer function is set by responding to printed questions with the printer’s
control keys. FEED is yes and CHARGE is no.
To set the printer’s function:

Ensure that the printer is off and connected to power. The power switch must be
in the
OFF
position.

While pressing and holding down the
FEED
and
CHARGE
switches, move the
power switch to the
ON
position.
This puts the printer into the Function Set Mode.
The printer will print “FUNCTION SETTING MODE” followed by the default
factory settings.

After the printer prints ENTER MODE SETTING [YES/NO], press FEED
(yes).
COMMAND MODE = x will be printed.

If COMMAND MODE = A, press CHARGE (no).
The printer will respond with COMMAND MODE = B.

Press FEED (yes), meaning “Yes, I want COMMAND MODE set to B.”
The printer will respond with the next setting, CHARACTER SET = xxx.
