Chapter 5: OPTIONS Settings
Setting AUTOSTART (AUTOST)
Access the <AUTOSTART> setup screen to set the initial delay or the
AUTOSTART ON/OFF option.
Initial DELAY
When a sample is started, a user-set initial delay occurs before HandiLaz Mini
begins counting particles. This delay allows the HandiLaz Mini to stabilize
sample flow and check other internal functions. The minimum delay is 10
seconds, but the user can set the delay to any value up to 99 seconds.
AUTOSTART
HandiLaz Mini can be set to automatically start sampling after the initial delay
expires. This eliminates the need to manually start sampling after the READY
message is displayed.
In other words: after the initial delay, the HandiLaz Mini will do one of the
following things:
• When AUTOSTART is ON, HandiLaz Mini will start counting particles
without requiring any operator action.
• When AUTOSTART is OFF, HandiLaz Mini will enter the READY state,
requiring the operator to press the
START
/
STOP
key to start sampling.
To set DELAY and AUTOSTART:

From the <MENU> screen, select OPTIONS.

In the <OPTIONS> menu screen, select AUTOST.
The <AUTOSTART> setup screen will open.

Use the
ENTER
key to navigate to the Initial DELAY fields.

Use the up ▲ or down ▼ key as necessary to set both fields.

Press the
ENTER
key to go to the AUTOSTART ON/OFF setting.

Use the up ▲ or down ▼ key to set AUTOSTART ON/OFF.
7
Press the
PREV
key to exit the AUTOSTART setting screen.
