CONVEYLINX-IO TRANSPARENCY MODE
ConveyLinx modules are most often used on MDR conveyor applications where a network of modules is controlling
zones of conveyor in a ZPA fashion. Part of the Auto-Configuration procedure establishes a “connection” between
each module where each module receives status from its neighbours as to the status of each other’s zones. This is
mechanism that provides the zone to zone flow of items on the conveyor.
FIGURE 29 - TYPICAL CONVEYLINX CONVEYOR FLOW
When an application calls for additional digital I/O to be localized on such a conveyor network, it is convenient to
install ConveyLinx-IO along the conveyor path. However, by default of the Auto-Configuration procedure, the
ConveyLinx-IO gets configured along with its neighboring ZPA control ConveyLinx modules and is set up with these
zone to zone flow connections. However, the zone to zone status data associated with these conveyor
connections do not automatically pass through the ConveyLinx-IO module. The result is that conveyor flow will be
interrupted. This is illustrated in Figure 30.
