  If no images are displayed on some or all channels of your Q-See DVR, there could be a connection problem. Check the cables and ports of the camera and DVR. It could also be a camera problem; try attaching the cameras directly to a working port on the DVR to check them. Another cause may be that the video format (NTSC/PAL) of the DVR is different from that of the cameras. If this is the case, change the DVR video format.

  If your Q-See DVR is not recording, try formatting the hard drive manually. The hard disk drive may also be damaged and need replacement.

  If the Q-See DVR cannot find the hard disk drive, check the power and data cables connected to the HDD. The HDD might also be damaged and require replacement.

  If your Q-See DVR starts and displays “please wait……” continuously, check the cable connections to ensure they are secure. If the issue persists, unplug and then plug the cables back in. You may also try reformatting or replacing the current drive. Another solution is to connect the DVR to a different surge protector and power outlet.

  If you cannot record with your Q-See DVR, it may be because the HDD is not formatted; please format it manually first. The record function may not be enabled or set up correctly, please refer to Section 4.3 Record Configuration. Also, the HDD might be full and the recycle function not enabled; please refer to Section 4.3 Record Configuration and the Recycle Record Tab in the Record Menu. Finally, the HDD could be damaged and require replacement.

  If your Q-See DVR does not start after connecting the power, the power adapter may be damaged or not providing enough power, so please change the adapter. Also, the DVR may not be getting enough power from the outlet or surge protector. Finally, there could be a problem with the system board on the DVR.

  If you cannot record with your Q-See DVR, the HDD might not be formatted. Please format it manually.
