d) Push the locking mechanism locking pin downwards and carefully lift
the flap blade.
CAUTION
Crushing hazard between locking lever and locking pin
Carefully lift the flap blade. Release the locking pin so that it is pressed down by the
locking lever.

e) Lift
the
flap blade up as far as it will go.
Ensure that the flap blade is kept open during maintenance work. You may want to
secure it open with
auxiliary means
to prevent it from rapidly falling/ closing.
WARNING
Crushing hazard/risk of severe injury due to falling/closing flap blade!
Prior to working underneath the flap blade, the flap blade must be safeguarded
against closing. Do not rest the flap blade on the stopper (attached to inspection lid)
!

f) Inspect the lower part and upper part of the flap blade as well as the pipe
socket for material deposits or build-up.
• Remove all material deposits and build-up.
• If blade thickness is at or below the following values, then the blade and/or
corresponding components need to be replaced:
