Activity 9 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Systems
Stopping the engines
To shut down the engines, return throttle to neutral/idle
position, press and hold red button until engine stops, then
release button only once engine has completely stopped.
Emergency engine stop
An emergency engine stop is at the discretion of the helm.
If an engine emergency stop is necessary, push the stop
button(s) to the relevant engine(s).
Engine malfunction/failure
In the event of an engine malfunction/failure, do the
following:
Check the fuel level.
Check the poly switch for illumination under the
outboard hood, refer to page 73.
Check the fuel for contamination.
Check the battery voltages using SIMS system.
CAUTION
Top speed will not be reached when engine
is in limp mode.

Digital tachometer
This gauge contains the tachometer, trim meter,
hour meter, oil level indicator, and the overheat
warning indicator.
