Helming the Atlantic 85
The Atlantic 85 is a much improved ILB based on the
successful Atlantic 75. Constructed from foam cored
carbon or carbon/glass composite, it has the ability
to carry a fourth crew member along with more room
for casualties.
Compass – Magnetic compass used for headings.
Tachometers – Port/Stbd - Engine rev display, Oil
pressure warning and engine trim tilt at the side, and
engine fault codes at bottom.
Alarm cancel – Cancels audible alarm for MOB and
Engine alarms. Warning lights will still illuminate.
Alarms – Man Overboard alarm (Light/Audible)
operated by removal of 4th seat MOB cord. Will also
place MOB on nav system (SIMS). Engine overheat
alarm (Light/Audible) requires engine shutdown
where safe to do so.
Light switches – On/Off control for all navigation
lights, deck lights, fwd lights and blue flashing light.
Wheel – Standard steering wheel hydraulically
operating ram attached to engine
The 4-stroke fully inversion proofed engines are superior
in performance to the equivalent 2-strokes, with better
acceleration throughout the rev range and significantly
better fuel consumption.
Helm console layout
Tally plate – Shows fuel capacity and engine speed
(rpm) relating to knots/fuel consumption.
Nav repeater – Displays information from Nav
system selected by user, such as course to steer,
rolling road, waypoint info, compass (T).
Depth sounder – Displays depth from hull mounted
transponder in units selected by user. Can be offset
to reflect depth from waterline – Check LOP
Start/stop buttons – Green push buttons to start
engines, press and hold red to stop.
Couple batteries button – Links Port/Stbd battery
banks whilst pressed.
Trim tilt selector – Enables lifting of individual or
both engines together via use of up/down switch
on throttles.
