Activity 9 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Systems
Engine instrumentation and control
The engines have just four electrical cables connected to
them. These are the main engine positive and negative
supplies, main engine loom and a smaller trim/tilt
display loom.
The engine’s fuses have been replaced with a polyswitch
unit, which also contains the starter motor relay to the
right of the box.
Loom junction box
The main engine loom is connected to the loom junction
box. This box enables access to the engine start/stop and
trim/tilt circuits. The box is located on the port side of the
mechanics position.
Engine control panel
The engine control panel contains the start/stop buttons
for both engines as well as the trim/tilt change over switch.
It connects to both the isolator box and loom junction box.
