Activity 5 - Search and Rescue
Ambulance pouch
The ambulance pouch may used as a stretcher, kit
dump, high visibility marker or to prevent heat loss. The
Ambulance Pouch is located in the first aid locker below
crew seat 4.
Throw bag
The throw bag is located at the number 4 crew seat. It can
be used to assist casualty from the water to the boat.
Systems and information management system
(SIMS)
The Atlantic 85 is comprehensively equipped with all the
equipment required for the search and rescue environment.
Contained within the SIMS System and available from
both terminals are the radar, chart, and direction
finding screens. See page 69 for further details.

The Radar can be used for locating and identifying the
casualty, the assessment of visibility and the management
of multi vessel searches. The VHF and DF allows the
crew to contact the casualty and get an accurate bearing
to them.
