NOTE
It is important to be aware that if transmitting
on VHF whilst conference is selected, any crew
conversations will be transmitted over the air.
• The M/VHF WATCH switch at the helm position
will allow the helm to listen to the VHF radio and
DF simultaneously.
• The Crew 4 position is not provided with the ability to
transmit over the VHF radio, a VOLUME control and
MIC ON switch are provided.
• When a headset is not connected to a control unit,
the trailing connector should be fitted in the stowage
provided to prevent damage and ‘MIC OFF’ selected.
• The Helm is provided with a radio press-to-talk (PTT)
button on the throttle arm used to transmit over the
VHF radio. Radio PTT buttons for Crew 2 and 3 are
provided on the respective control units.
Battery isolator
The isolators are located underneath the helm seat
accessed from the port side. There are two isolators
which connect the port and starboard battery bank
independently. The Port bank is the top isolator and the
starboard bank the bottom isolator. If the banks need to
be linked due to fault, then the coupler switch can be used.
The Mk1 boat has an automatic coupling system, however
on recent boats, the coupler is located either next to the
isolators or on the helm console next to the start/stop
buttons. An alarm is heard if only one battery is on.
Distribution box
All the electric circuits on the boat are fed from the
distribution box. Details of each circuit are listed on the lid.
In the event of a fault the relevant breaker will trip. These
can be re-instated by depressing the reset button. Another
button can be found on the forward outside edge of the
distribution box (green button) which resets the trim and
tilt post capsize.
