MULTI-PORT OPTICAL POWER METER MPM-210H
9 / 59
1. Introduction
The MPM-210H is a multi-port optical power meter for measuring optical
characteristic of optical devices. The MPM-210H is composed of up to five MPM-
211/MPM-212/MPM213/MPM-215 Measurement Modules (MM). There are four
types of measurement modules: MPM-211, MPM-212, MPM-213 and MPM-215.
The MPM-211 MM has 4 optical power measuring ports (4 channels). The MPM-
212 has 2 optical power measuring ports and 2 analog output ports and outputs
analog voltage signal proportional the optical power per each port. The MPM-
213 has 4 electrical current measuring ports (4 channels), and is used as same
as MPM-211. The MPM-215 MM has 4 optical power measuring ports (4
channels) and enables optical power measurement for each port with a high
dynamic range of 60 dB or more. However, the MPM-215 cannot be used as
same as other modules (MPM-211/212/213) and it does not support the
measurement range switching function. The MPM-210H doesn’t have front
panel nor display window but it can be easily operated by remote control. The
MPM-210H is controllable by using GPIB, LAN, RS232 communication and users
can interlock the system with other system (santec Tunable Laser, TSL series
and Polarization Controller, PCU series) and operate it for measuring PDL and
IL. Commands for controlling the MPM-210H are listed and described in section
5.5.
