S5-95F Differences Between the S5-95U and the S5-95F
16.3 Program Scanning
16.3.1 Cyclic Program Scanning
Due to additional failsafe functions, the S5-95F operating system's runtime is greater than that
of the S5-95U's operating system, and is typically 50 ms.
In addition to the permanent hardware-inherent cycle monitoring time, the S5-95F has a second,
specifiable cycle monitoring time.
16.3.2 Time-Controlled Program Scanning
The dynamic behaviour of time-controlled program scanning differs from that of the S5-95U (see
section 7.4.3).
16.3.3 Interrupt-Driven Program Scanning
OB2 for hardware interrupts (limited operation set due to asynchronous user program execution
and short response time)
OB3 for software interrupts (edge detection via operating system)
Additional diagnostic byte for interrupt processing (see Chapter 12)
16.4 S5-95F Operating Modes
There are three operating modes:
Test mode
Safety mode
Quasi-safety mode
The restart characteristics are different for each mode (see section 2.5.2).
