Workpiece count/prewarning limit
Description
FB 157 is used to determine the tool wear by monitoring the number of workpieces machined.
An empirically determined number of workpieces to be machined (max. 9998) is preset for
every tool. The monitor for the number of pieces is deactivated by entering 9999 for this tool
(available soon).
When a tool is inserted (BEAR = "1"), the stored value for the number of pieces is decre-
mented by "1" and identification bit 4 "Number of pieces decremented" set in DBZW +2.
Depending on the value of the input parameter, a prewarning limit can additionally be set as a
limit value. As a result, identification bit "0" "Prewarning limit of number of workpieces
reached" is set.
If the number of workpieces reaches the value "0", the tool is either locked out immediately
(SPER = "1") or disabled when the program is terminated (SPER = "0"). Additionally, the
signal "Number of workpieces = "0" is output for the duration of one cycle.
Number of workpieces and prewarning limit are stored in consecutive P memories in the NC.
For the workpiece count the data are read from the P memories and entered again after being
updated.
Sequence: P(n): Number of pieces; P(n+1): Prewarning limit.
For addressing the tool offset memory in the NC, the block accesses the D number stored in
the status word DB and the TO area. If an error occurs during machining, the error number is
entered in DR 0 of DB 134 and processing of the block is terminated by setting error bit = "1"
(one cycle). The error number is to be evaluated immediately after the block call depending on
the error bit set since further block calls might follow.
