Error and system messages

The analyzer can detect and display various fault statuses. These fault statuses are divided into
maintenance requests and faults.
11.1 Maintenance requests
Maintenance requests are references to certain changes in the analyzer which - at the time of
occurrence - have no in󹪞uence on the analyzer measurements. However, remedial measures are
recommended to guarantee that measurements remain possible.
If the analyzer is in measuring mode, you can recognize the occurrence of a maintenance
request in that an "M" appears at the right edge of the measurement screen.

Maintenance requests are logged and can be called in input mode
using the menu path "Analyzer status - Status - Maintenance re‐
quests" (see section Analyzer status: Status: Maintenance request
(Page 104)). The corresponding message texts are stored. You can
delete the messages by pressing the <ENTER> key. However, they
appear again if the cause has not been eliminated.
The analyzer outputs a maintenance request in the following cases:
Message "AUTOCAL drift beyond tolerance (IR)"
The zero point of a component has drifted too much between AUTOCAL procedures. The
AUTOCAL parameters can be entered as described in section Calibration: AUTOCAL/drift
values (Page 125). Using the conditions de󹪝ned for the AUTOCAL deviation (see
section Con󹪝guration: Special functions: AUTOCAL deviation (only for IR components)
(Page 146)), the actual deviation may drift from the maximum permissible value. In such
cases it may be meaningful to set a shorter interval between two AUTOCAL procedures. If this
does not improve the situation, contact the servicing department.
Message "O2 sensor"
The measured voltage of the O
2
sensor has dropped as a result of aging, but is still within the
permissible range. This means that there is no immediate need for action, but the O
2
sensor
will soon be exhausted if no action is taken. This would be the correct time to order a new O
2
sensor.
Message "Temperature beyond tolerance"
The contrast control is no longer guaranteed if the LCD temperature is outside the
permissible tolerance. It may then be di󹪟cult to read the display, or it could remain dark in
the worst case. If this fault occurs because of an excessively high ambient temperature,
provide su󹪟cient ventilation or air conditioning. If the fault still occurs, contact the servicing
department.
Message "H2S sensor status"
If this message occurs, the measuring reserve of the H
2
S sensor is almost used up. We
recommend that you then replace the sensor. If the measuring reserve of the H
2
S sensor is
used up completely, the fault message "Measured value channel 3 beyond tolerance" is
displayed. A measurement is no longer possible.
