Chapter: 13. Appendix 4. Non wheelmark approved S version
Beam lter
In case the noise test (in “Screen diagnostics”) test failed on one channel this feature will let you lter
away the faulty channel and let the speed log operate on the two working chanels.
To switch on current function:go to “Screen diagnostics#, “Menu 4”
The current function is visible by pressing “hidden button”and keep it pressed for about 3 seconds
(second beep must be heard while pressed).
Default setting “None” for use of all 3 channels
Choose the channel to lter.
In this example the Channel number 1 is ltered. Speed log will operate on channel 3 and 4
Operation of speed log with only two channels will work ne. It may be need for recalibration of heading
error.
The only limitation to a two channel operation is the eect from any vertical movement of water in STW.
Example: When vessel is moving in water some of the STW speed may come from water being pushed
down under the hull resulting in a dierence between heading error BT (SOG) and heading error WT
(STW).
In operation with only 2 channels there is a reading of “Avaraged drift BT” (brown) in additional to the
default normal “Avaraged drift WT” (Blue).
“Heading error BT” button is implemented into the “Screen calibration”, “Menu 3” to set “Avaraged drift
BT” to zero.
