• For runtime firmware updates, configuration, and diagnostics, the UART is sufficient. If the FW is corrupted
(for example because of power loss during firmware load), the UART is not available and SWD interface
needs to be used. The SWD interface also provides higher transfer speed than UART. These two interfaces
are intended for development and debugging. On normal operation, the STWBC2 chip can be implemented
in standalone application (no host needed, UART is used only for production programming).
• The full bridge inverter can be run in half bridge mode to transmit lower power when necessary.
• The Q-factor measurement circuit measures the Q-factor of the coil before power transfer. This function is
used for a simple object presence detection, prior to digital ping, and also for Q-factor based foreign object
detection.
Caution: Plastic spacers and the PCB may contain sharp edges and pointy headers. High voltage (below 70 V) may be
present on board at the ring node when operating at maximum power.
