3 Overview of the board
The STEVAL-WBC2TX70 evaluation board is optimized for performance. The board features:
• STWBC2 wireless power transmitter chip
• Optimized BOM and PCB space
• On board full bridge inverter
• 32-bit, 64 MHz Arm® Cortex® M0+ microcontroller with 32 KB SRAM
• 8-channel, 12-bit A/D converter
• On-chip thermal management and protections
• Rx presence detection based on coil Q factor measurement
• Foreign object detection (FOD) function
• Onboard STSAFE chip with test certificate (certificate is mandatory in Qi 1.3 and later)
• STLINK + UART combined connector
• Two LEDs to indicate the status
• Fan support
• Package VFQFPN68L 8x8 mm pitch 0.4, ROHS compliant

• Series resonant capacitors (Ctank) and the transmitting coil form a resonant circuit. This circuit is in charge
of transmitting the power signal, so any components/tracks involved should be rated accordingly.
• Power supply can be provided from fixed voltage supply to barrel jack or from USB PD to USB Type-C®
connector. If USB PD is used, the device is capable to request for up to 20 V.
• The DC-DC boost converter can raise the bridge voltage for a smoother regulation.
• For ASK demodulation, the ring voltage and current is sensed. Only the filters and current sensing resistor
are necessary. The rest is implemented inside the chip.
